Welcome to Cypress High School. I look forward to a successful year in Trigonometry and Algebra Math 3. To prepare our students for future challenges in math, we have chosen a program that includes an active approach to learning problem solving skills. Our textbook, published by McDougal Littell & Carnegie Learning, is a student-centered program. Its style leads students to the discovery of mathematical ideas. Then, once they've discovered these ideas, they communicate what they've learned, and apply what they know. It asks them to solve problems individually and in teams. It focuses on real-life situations to help students appreciate the power of mathematics in their daily lives. Our goal is to build a partnership with family and community members. Together, we can create a learning environment that really helps our students. Throughout this school year, you will be invited to participate in school events and school/home projects. Periodically, your child will bring home activities for you to share and experience as a family. We welcome any suggestions or comments you have about our program.
