Talking Points for parent calls regarding Fall Registration . . .

 

Fall Registration 2013-14

All parents/guardians have recently received an AUHSD mailer that provided their student’s 2nd semester report card and information regarding fall registration.  To clarify the registration process, below is the information the parent must understand:

  • All sites now require parents to begin the 2013-14 registration process online.  This is new.
  • Only four pilot sites (Brookhurst/Savanna, Walker/Kennedy) will complete the registration paperwork entirely online. This is new.  
  • All students and parents/guardians will need a personal email address to:
    • Begin the 2013-14 registration process
    • Access the Aeries Web Parent Portal for student information (ie: grades, attendance, assignments, etc.)
  • If a parent/guardian does not have an email address or computer access, they will need to go to the school sites to receive assistance in setting up an email account and accessing the Parent Portal.  
  • The following email providers are being recommended by the District:
  • In the recent mailing, instructions were provided for registration:
    • Review and update the Enrollment Verification form provided. Bring to on-site registration.
    • Complete the Emergency Information card provided. Bring to on-site registration.
    • Read the District Annual Notification to Parents/Guardians online at www.AUHSD.us .  This is new.   Once read, the student and the parent will initial each box and sign the Receipt of Annual Notification to Parents/Guardians that was provided.  This is new.  This completed receipt is the student’s “ticket” to complete registration at their site in August.
    • Join the PTA envelope provided. Bring to on-site registration.
  • Each site should have provided their school community with their specific August registration dates, as well as, had them posted on their school website.  These dates are also available on the district website: www.auhsd.us .
